OMEGA’s Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon “Meteorite” is an innovative addition to the Speedmaster collection.
This timepiece is not only ready for adventure but is also stylish beyond compare. The grey ceramic case is complemented by 18K Sedna™ gold Moonwatch-style hands and an 18K Sedna™ gold bezel with a silicon nitride ring and brushed OMEGA Ceragold™ tachymeter scale.
The Meteorite dial is made from a solid piece of ancient, extra-terrestrial stone that has been acid etched to reveal a unique pattern on each watch.
Reminiscent of its legendary predecessors, the Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon “Meteorite” has a 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at 3 o’clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibre 9300 can be seen through the bevelled sapphire crystal caseback.
It is presented on a grey leather strap with a titanium foldover clasp.
Calibre Omega 9300: Self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial escapement. Silicon balance-spring on free sprung-balance, 2 barrels mounted in series, automatic winding in both directions. Rhodium plated finish with exclusive Geneva waves in arabesque.
Automatic Watch: A self-winding watch or automatic watch uses a mechanical movement whose main spring is wound automatically by the natural motion of the wearer’s arm.
Ceramic Watch: A casebody created from a single block of pressed ceramic, which is first heated in an oven and then three-dimensionally machined. OMEGA’s ceramic watch cases are extremely scratch-resistant and shock-resistant.
Chronograph: The chronograph function is a mechanism for measuring time intervals. A chronograph watch can therefore be used to time events while displaying the time like any traditional watch.
Chronometer: Label given to a watch which has undergone precision tests and received a certificate from an official body (COSC).
Date: The day of the month, displayed in a window on a watch dial at the 3 or 6 o’clock position, or within a subdial at 9 o’clock.
Sedna Gold™: Sedna Gold™ is an 18K rose gold alloy, fusing pure gold with copper and palladium, in order to guarantee that your gold watch has long lasting lustre.
Small Seconds: A hand on a sub-dial which tracks seconds typically it completes a full rotation in one minute.
Tachymeter: A tachymeter watch has a function for measuring speed. It is a chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be read in kilometres per hour based on a 1000 metre distance.
Transparent Case Back: A transparent case back – frequently made of sapphire – makes it possible to see the movement inside the watch.
