So named after the boat their father lovingly hand-built for their mother, Bremont’s founding brothers Nick and Giles English expand their successful foray into women’s watches with the new Bremont SOLO “Lady K”. A precious nod to their mother and her artistic and adventurous spirit – which were of equal match to their father’s pilot profession – the compact 34mm timepiece builds upon the brand’s established aviation and military principles with elegance and finesse. The model also follows the sell-out success of last year’s Bremont Hawking Quantum, the pioneering female model from the remarkable historic limited edition collection, then conceived with the Hawking family.

Diamonds have been used for the first time in Bremont’s core collection and feature both on the dial – as eight applied indices containing claw-set full-cut 1.3mm VS2 GH diamonds – and on the stainless-steel case, its bezel claw-set with a further 60 white brilliant cut 1.35mm VVS FG diamonds, their total carat weight 0.7ct. At Bremont, all diamonds are ethically sourced, following the Kimberly Process and are conflict free. The dial, in turn is available in either white mother of pearl or black Tahitian mother of pearl, the latter of which appropriately calls to mind pictures of the open sea, yet to be explored by boat. Performance-wise, Bremont has kept to its core principles. Boasting a 42-hour power reserve, the Lady K features the Modified calibre 11 1/2’’’ BE-92AV automatic chronometer-rated movement, with 25 jewels. The elegant 3 hand timepiece also features a date window at 6 o’clock. Manufactured in Britain, this is a timepiece to be worn and cherished. The two-tone adjustable bracelet is crafted from stainless steel and features a double-deploying clasp. The domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal is scratch resistant. The polished stainless steel Bremont Trip-Tick® construction case is scratch-resistant yet sparkles with the aforesaid diamonds. Nick recalls his mother sailing to Africa on The Lady K, and being a woman who was as strong as she was creative. The Bremont SOLO Lady K is a watch for women’s lives lived well.
