The Argonaut Azure is the latest addition to Bremont’s Armed Forces Collection, a collection borne out of a collaboration with Britain’s Ministry of Defence and honouring Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. The Collection is comprised of a series of chronometer-rated timepieces, drawing inspiration from the original ‘Dirty Dozen’ watches, timepieces commissioned for the British Army during WW2 when Britain’s Ministry of Defence needed watches to issue to military personnel.
The striking new blue dialled Argonaut Azure is a 42mm hardened steel cased military dive watch, housing a three handed chronometer rated BE-92AV movement. The internal rotating bezel is operated by a lockable crown at 4 o’clock and with minutes being so critical in the marine environment, the readability of both the hands and dial were crucial in the design process. The Argonaut Azure continues the Collection’s utilitarian principles, whilst bringing in some synergistic ocean blue hues to make the dial and hands stand out clearly against each other, whether on land or at sea.
The Argonaut is a name inspired by Greek mythology and synonymous with Navy history, having appeared on Commissioned ships for nearly 250 years. The satin and polished two-piece case construction and beautiful blue dial is complemented by a distinctive orange temple island rubber strap. The automatic chronometer features a 42 hour power reserve and a Bremont moulded, skeletonised decorated rotor. It is water resistant to 30 ATM, 300 meters.
